SUMMARY:Apply to join the Domestic Violence Literacy Train the Trainer program
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\nExpressions of interest are now open for current and aspiring prevention of violence against women (PVAW) practitioners (in regional areas) to participate in the Domestic Violence Literacy Project.\nWhat is the Domestic Violence Literacy Project?\nThe Domestic Violence Literacy project will train professionals from regional women’s community health and domestic violence services to deliver the family and domestic violence literacy training in their local communities to community leaders and mainstream services. The training package includes a variety of modules including responding to family and domestic violence, as well as preventing violence against women.\nHow are successful applicants supported?\nSuccessful applicants will receive face to face training in their local area (or have their flights and accommodation covered) as well as post-training support and resources. Participants will also have the opportunity to be linked in to the PVT Network (a community of practice for PVAW practitioners in WA).\nWhat are the expectations of successful applicants?\nParticipants who receive the training must commit to deliver the training in their local community no later than 2 months after undergoing the training.\nHow are successful applicants chosen?\nThere are limited spaces available. Applicants will be chosen based on location, the participant’s commitment to delivering the training in their local community, whether the domestic violence literacy package can be linked in to other work the organisation is undertaking, the role of the applicant and whether it is likely for them to be able to deliver the training on an ongoing basis, and the experience of the applicant in delivering training or community education.\nHow do I apply?\nTo express interest in being selected to participate in this project, please send an EOI addressing the following questions, to info@pvt.org.au:\n\nA brief overview of your experience and current role\nWhy you are interested in delivering domestic violence literacy training in your area\nWhy your role is well-placed to deliver domestic violence literacy training\nYour experience in delivering community education and/or training\nHow you envision utilising the training (within 2 months and beyond)\n\nWhen is the deadline for applications?\nApplications must be received by COB 31 December 2021.\nWhen will I know if I’ve been successful?\nApplicants will be notified of their outcome in January 2022.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
