Project overview

The Youth Empowerment Program! (YEP!) is a primary prevention, direct participation, educational program targeting young people. The co-designed program has been packaged and piloted by Indigo Junction and Rise who work as a consortium to deliver the Keny Moort program. Content and delivery methods have been further refined in response to feedback from Aboriginal young people gathered during its implementation within the Keny Moort program. To successfully deliver the program, the Organisation are working with project partners Maarli Deadly Yorga Women’s Group and the Moorditj Maaman Men’s Group in addition to the Indigo Junction Cultural Committee. Program resources were developed in conjunction with the peak body Stopping Family Violence WA, and the content and delivery method of the program has been tailored to best meet the needs of local Aboriginal young people through consultation with the Organisation’s service users and youth workers during 2022/2023. The Organisation’s staff representatives, including Aboriginal Workers, have undertaken five-day training on the Safe and Together™ Model that underpins the YEP! program.
